But we didn't.
We went in with a series of questions- a whole, long, not-even-close-to-comprehensive list of questions and if any single one was "no", then the whole thing would be a wash. But to our amazement, we heard "yes", after "yes", after "yes". In fact, the amount of time, resources, and love being thrown our way to make this happen is overwhelming. And let's just be clear- this is still a long shot. Josh and I have already fallen into a routine of beginning each day with a battle plan. (Never having been in battle myself, this is simply hyperbole) So even though I literally have no job left to do, and more free time than I thought I would ever need, we begin each day with a detailed analysis of what we achieved the day before, what has priority for the coming day, and if we are getting anywhere close to a door slammed in our face. Because again, this is all being held together with a wad of gum and a shoe string. Even knowing that, we are holding on tight and fighting like hell. Because if this works, it will be because of the wonderful and truly amazing group of people who have been working just as hard as us to make it happen. (And now I start crying again because I remember that they're all out of work now too). And if this works, four kids get to stay together.
Anyway, that's my update today. My complete awe and gratitude for the opportunity to have these people in my life. If this doesn't work out, we will all know, without a shadow of a doubt, that we did everything we could. And that? That feels pretty good.
You guys are absolutely incredible. Keep the updates coming and let us know if we can help in any way at all!!!! xo
